I've generally avoided improbable pairings, as canon usually worked for me, but I have to credit Ozymandias for throwing that out the window. Shosanna/Fredrick are the final nail in that coffin; they settled in the back of my brain and refuse to leave. Watchmen effected me more than I thought it would and has ruined pretty much any other graphic novel I may hope to read, as it put me through an emotional wringer. I've also watched the director's cut of the film over 10 billion times and I then proceed to further analyze Adrian because I can't ever stop doing so. It sounds odd, but he made a profound impact on me. I've even considered writing fic combining both novel and film canon, wherein Laurie, Dan, and Adrian end up an OT3. It'd be delightfully complicated, with Laurie reaching out to Adrian first, as she's realized how significantly her life has improved because of him. Currently though, Shosanna/Fredrick are my main focus.
Speaking of which, I've already plotted out various parts of the story, including a little heart-to-heart with Hugo (well, it's more of Zoller trying to hold it together and Hugo silently listening). I'm watching the front desk tonight at work (yay library!), which gives me ample time to write out the first chapter. I greatly appreciate your offer, so I'll come bothering you when needed ♥
Shosanna/Fredrick, like sexy zombies, will eat your brain. I look through People magazine at work and pity all of the actors who didn't get to be in IB (it's a bit of a bad habit when there's a great film currently out that I love to death).
I'll gladly await your RPF, because it can't possibly be bad if it involves Daniel and Mélanie. I'd love for QT to read it, too, though it seems as though he's more of a slash fan.
EDIT: Quick update: I ended up getting started on a Diane/Mélanie RPF instead. She comforts Diane after filming the strangulation scene. I like writing it, but I'm also missing Shosanna/Fredrick. My brain somehow wants to cram Daniel in there, too.
