I really liked Watchmen, but I think it wasn't until I was older that I really got the nuances and appreciated it for what it was. I'd been trying to read From Hell before re-reading Watchmen, and the difference is huge. I'm a big DC-Batverse nerd, so the whole superheroes-with-flaws thing makes me tres happy.

And speaking of which, I was buying DVDs today and Watchmen literally kept falling off the shelf everytime I walked past it. A sign I need to watch it again, and admire the Grey-Area King and the potential of an OT3, sans Rorschach? (Also: I was in the store buying:

And I purchased Joyeux Noel and Two Days in Paris yesterday. I'm so gone and enamored with these two, it's terrible!)

Speaking of Joyeux Noel, Daniel's look is sort of what I imagine for your AU -

Sans jaunty hat and plus angst and cigarettes and a huge gun. The scene with Hugo you describe? I need to read this ASAP! GET ON IT! And I'm so there for Diane/Mélanie. Go on, make it Diane/Mélanie/Daniel. With tequila. And cheese. And frottage, because frottage sounds like a cheese.

(My email is nouveaufille at gmail dot com if you want to bother me ;)

I'm dragging my roommate to see IB again tomorrow night, so I suspect I'll be setting my comment blather-phaser to high. Damn those sexy zombies! Damn them!
