And I'm convinced QT did film a few Sho & Fred (his ultimate OTP) scenes for his personal amusement - they're just collecting dust somewhere and when the 25th Anniv. Edition of the film comes out, we'll see them, no doubt (by then, Mel and Dan's gorgeous baby - their gift to the world- will be all grown up too, awww).
All creeperish ranting aside, it's like you took all our thoughts the very first time we saw that scene and formulated them into an amourous and heartaching work of art. No lie, the last sentece of the fic was the very first thought that popped into my head the first time I saw the film. Talk about symbiotic!
