I made banners/headers of Shosanna/Fredrick/Mélanie Laurent/Daniel Brühl. I made her as a haunting figure (or spectre, if you will) as he contemplates. 9 in total, 750 x 300.
Here's a fun fact: Daniel is off to her left and will join her for filthy, unicorn-spawning sex.
I LOVE OGLING MY LJ. CREEPY, YES, BUT SO TRUE.
I might have to icon that Helga/Wicki action. Just because.
It's partially QT's fault, too. I'm mean and hoping his scatterbrain will lead him to not finishing the IB prequel (no Fredrick/Shosanna? No thanks), like how he never made that Kill Bill manga and prequel he bantered on about before.
Here's another Sho/Fred theme (shush, I LOVE Dio):
REALLY!? HIDDEN!DANIEL IS THE BEST KIND! As is unicorn-spawing sex, which no doubt will be censored with cuts to Fassy reading Little Women: An Analysis whilst trying to write his thesis on why Jo should have gone with Laurie. Which is actually just fic.
You're right - it's yours AND QT's fault. That and I'm totally a sucker for epically doomed romances ("really?" says the universe). He'd be totally into Helga/Wicki, if only for the epic Photoshops I could make while he writes it. "Put them on a boat! With sombreros!"
OMG ILU. I've been wanting a Daniel/Melanie header since like, forever. I was going to make my own, but I'm glad I found these. I love these too so much omg. I was shipping them through the whole movie. Plus, the extended cafe scene on the dvd made me giggle with excitement. ^^
Do you mind if I resize it and add my own text to fit my color scheme? And also make it my profile banner? Credit of course would go to you m'dear.
They're my favorite Tarantino characters and I can't quit creating stuff/writing about them because they've completely eaten my brain. I kept giggling throughout the extended scene, too! Everyone who knows me knows that they have to put up with it or they can't watch Inglourious Basterds with me.
Go right ahead! I included blanks as I figured others might want to add their own text and such.
Thanks so much sweetie. I'll give you proper credit.
I've never fallen in love with two characters like I have with them. They're just such a tragic pair, and you can't help but wish things had gone better. Even Tarantino said they were like Romeo and Juliet, and would've worked in better circumstances. Plus Daniel and Melanie just have such amazing chemistry. I mean, they were probably acting, but the way Daniel kept looking at her during the extended scene was so cute. I choose to believe he had a crush on her during filming. Oh jeez...look at me prattling on like this. I just tend to gush about them.
And feel free to prattle on and gush about them, as I do the same thing.
I've never fallen in love with two characters like I have with them.
I feel the exact same way, which is what drove me to analyze all of their scenes and write a manifesto for them.
I mean, they were probably acting, but the way Daniel kept looking at her during the extended scene was so cute. I choose to believe he had a crush on her during filming.
I do, too! Everything about how Fredrick feels about her is present in his facial expressions and mannerisms, which is very touching to watch. I especially love that he's the only one to break down the barrier she built around herself; I see their end as an unconventionally happy ending, as they're finally united in death and given what life denied them. Fredrick/Shosanna is just so beautiful and is the heart of the film, I think.
I'm glad to have made un_amico as well, as there are fans out there who felt nervous about liking Shosanna/Fredrick because the general fandom doesn't take the time to understand Fredrick, so he's viewed as an evil Nazi. I wrote the manifesto to further explain Fredrick, the subtlely powerful romance of Shosanna/Fredrick, and explainTarantino's intent; there's been so much said by all of them in interviews, their performances, and in the script that I wanted to make all of that information more easily accessable for others.
I love being to talk about Shosanna/Fredrick with other fans and I've met some wonderful people through it, so making the community and all of the other creative endeavors has been extremely worth it. There's plenty of fic, fanmixes, discussions, and even a stunning piece of fanart posted there, so there's plenty to enjoy (and we're a small, friendly group of people). Along with all of that, I look foward to your fanfiction and I love your enthusiasm for Shosanna and Fredrick!

I know! So many people just quickly write him off. I mean, I love Landa, but you could fit him into that stereotype. But with Fredrick, we see so many actions and gestures that show us he's a genuinely nice man. I think people feel funny about even liking someone on the other side of the War, and Fredrick makes them feel weird. How can this German be so nice, but on the wrong side? I think by nature people hate and write off people that make them think outside of the box. :/
The fanfiction oneshot I'm writing is Daniel/Melanie, (real life, yay!) and then I intend to write Fredrick/Shoshana once I get more used to the couple and fandom.
Yes, exactly! Both Shosanna and Fredrick were damaged by this war, and his trauma is just as valid as hers; it's just hard for people to deal with a character like Fredrick when the film is based off of a very real, horrific time in history. That is understandable, but not every German who served in the war was a monster. For someone very young like Fredrick, he was most likely forced into it (Hitler Youth was mandatory by 1936, which then led to military training); so many young people were indoctrinated/enlisted to fight for a future that would never come, and by the end of the war, they were dead or damaged. Tarantino stated in an interview that he wanted to make the film hard on viewers as we have to be able to see the characters from their perspective; so yes, there are awful, irredeemable characters and even ones that can be called heroes, but there are also the shades of gray, the ones who were forced to try and survive a situation larger than them, which is where Fredrick and Shosanna fall. Everything about Shosanna and Fredrick, including the way Daniel and Mélanie portrayed them, is realistic, subtle, and powerful. I suppose it's far too easy for many to view the world simplistically and in black and white, when it just isn't so.
Daniel/Mélanie is so wonderful and so very welcome, as there's not enough of it in the fandom! It also took me some time before I wrote Shosanna/Fredrick, too; the fandom was very new, I was very nervous, and so I requested a prompt for one of my friends instead. I've found, too, that they require a little more special care than the others when writing them.
I like working in black with white with the graphics for its lovely simplicity, but to dictate how others can modify to fit their own journals and layouts would be a bit obnoxious, I think. The fact that others would even want to use what I make is compliment enough.
Do feel complimented; you do lovely work! And thank you!
Black and white does suit your journal well :). For me, the incongruity of pink reflects their relationship—if I ship them at all, it's never in a true loving fashion; it's dub-con, rough and nasty. Romeo and Juliet? I think not :P.
As much of a sap as I am over them, it is nice to know that the banners/headers can fit with others' views of them. The major reason I never cared to pursue a career in graphic design was because I'd have to create for someone else's standards; something I've noticed from from creating stuff nad posting it here is that I'm probably more capable of doing that than I thought.

Now, let us join our hands and sing the anthem, STOP NEGATING THE BEAUTY OF THE PROJECTION ROOM SCENE.

I set out to re-design my LJ and then I got carried away. Looking at them now, I get Mazzy Star stuck in my head.

I think I'll use in a near future :)

I got a bit carried away when I was making them, so of course I had to share the results of my insanity with everyone else.

Nicely done :)

It took some searching on their fansites to find the right pictures to use, and those two were just so perfect.

Trufax: "Into Dust" by Mazzy Star was playing when I hit reply to this comment. So epic, so them.
Speaking of epic: my contribution to the OTPs Of Forever Photoshop Pool:
GET IT WICKI, GET IT WITH BAD SHADOWING I can't get them out of my head and I blame you. As per usual.

That video: :O
Can this be their theme, too?
Note: not directed by M.Bay

They'd need sombreros and Helga will have to be barefoot. Don't forget to put Samuel L. Jackson in the background somewhere.
Yeah, Dio videos are crazy as he's a big nerd ♥
You know that epic Meatloaf ballads work for everything, right? So yes, it can be their theme. Along with:

Also, I love your icon, as red perfectly suits them.
Edit: Spelling correction. See? Your icon and Shosanna/Fredrick/Mélanie/Daniel makes me all stupid.
