The detail worked perfectly and emphasized the tenderness of the whole thing. No worries at all about being gratuitous. Also, thanks for introducing me to a great film- I just finished "The Hands of Orlac," which I'd never heard of before I read this.

Btw, I adore your new icon- I love how happy and boyish he looks in that pic, and if the mood strikes you, I'd love to see a graphic of the screencap when he introduces her to Hellstrom and looks down at her, and there's just pure love in his eyes (I'll see if I can find the pic).
