I'm impressed that he was able to get his French speaking skills together for IB. He talked about it in an interview that he was familiar with the language, but worked to become fluent for the film (and that Fredrick is a genius for being to speak it without a German accent).

Unfortunately, our family tree isn't terribly definitive. We have quite a few bastards and an orphan, so it's all scattered. I have family in Norway that we were able to track down years ago from my orphaned grandmother, though. They're chemical engineers. I considered taking a trip just because and then asked my mom about the possibility of meeting someone and having them turn out to be related to me. She said they'd be so far removed that it wouldn't matter. IDK, it amuses me how nonchalant she was about it.

Thank you! I'm very proud of the fact that I take my time with writing fic. I figure if I'm going to make the effort to write someone else's characters and then post it on the internet, then I can't half-ass it. Part 8 is coming this week, btw. I would've posted it last weekend, but I wanted to add more of Fredrick's introspection (I love getting in his head, basically).

I became a fan of Reese's from another friend of mine who used to tape a variety of strange films late night from Showtime, one of which was Freeway. If you ever watch anything of hers, then that's it. It's a version of Little Red Riding Hood with Reese a barely literate juvenile delinquent wanting to find her grandmother, who was the only caring relative she ever had (the actress who plays the grandmother, I've learned, holds the world record for being the oldest porn star). Kiefer Sutherland is the big bad wolf of the film (and a creepy pederast). It's darkly hilarious and was one of the first films I ever bought on dvd.
Her first film, The Man in the Moon is also worth watching. It's a quiet little coming-of-age story with Tess Harper and Sam Waterston as her parents. She and her sister fall in love with the same boy, which divides them, and tragedy later unites them.
Then there are the two totally '90s/Gen X indie films S.F.W. and Overnight Delivery. I also loved her in Pleasantville, Election, and American Psycho. She's excellent with dark comedy, which is probably I enjoyed so much of her work over the years.
