Meeting People Is Easy
I like to understand what I'm shown.

loves: Léa Seydoux. Daniel Brühl. Adam Driver. Daisy Ridley. Tom Waits. David Lynch. Foreign film. Obscure cinema. Twin Peaks. Tragic soldiers. French women. Outer space romantic tragedies. Writing. Creating. Seeking fulfillment.

A recent transplant from livejournal, I want to use this space to share the creations I've made (and will make), such as fic and graphics. Such posts will not be locked, but my more personal posts will be.

I certainly don't mind meeting new people, which is why I'm here. So if the above sounds agreeable and we have something in common, leave a comment and let's see where this goes.

Hey hey! I got your comment on my mix and decided to keep on you a bit, hope you don't mind! Lisbeth lover, feminist, queer, and loves Twin Peaks?! I think you would be a great addition to my flist, if I could! :)

Hello!

Yes, that would be wonderful! ♥

Not-so-secret secret:

I creep on your comm like a creeper. Your fabulous Lisbeth fanmix post is the first time I finally got the nerve to comment (and I'm glad I did!).

Yay, adding now! And lol I meant 'creep', oh typos.

I'm glad too! My lj is slightly abandoned right now but I'm gonna try to post more this year.

Fantastic! Keeping or creeping, I don't mind either.

Posting more here has been something of a resolution for me, and turning more of my focus back onto my writing will help with that, I think.

And if all else fails, then I'll post pictures of my cats.

Ugh my fic writing has declined drastically over the years, it's pretty sad.

And the internet is always in need of more cat pictures, I always say. XD

I have an on-going WIP that takes up most of my fic writing time, but then I get distracted by other ideas I convince myself I have to write (because I must!), so I'm constantly scribbling something out. But I'd probably get more done if I honed my focus better and quit staying up all night watching foreign films.

I hope you feel inspired enough sometime this year to pick it back up again! I've mostly snooped through your Billie/David fic and I really just love your way with words; you have a great mix of humor and heart to go along with the sexiness, which I enjoy.

ALWAYS. I am especially convinced it is entirely necessary that I do my part.

Oooh, any recs for foreign films?

And awww, thank you so much! I miss those days. I've written a lot of fic for The Social Network, well not a lot but some, I just haven't posted it at my comm.

I hesitate to continue spamming your fo post, but what kind of cats do you have? I have two, Audrey and Tyler, a Calico and a Tabby, respectively. :)

I HAVE SO MANY. But, here are a few I think you may just enjoy: La Belle Personne (French), Goodbye Lenin! (German), Saturn in Opposition (Italian), and Last Life in the Universe (Thai/Japanese). If you want to get a little more adventurous/fantastical, then you must see Diva (French) and Wings of Desire (German). I'm most enamored with foreign films of the '80s, late '90s and into the mid 2000s. There's just this specific kind of feel to films of those time periods that I can't quite explain but that I really love.

You're quite welcome! Ah, the film that really made me take notice of Rooney Mara. I was never too involved in the fandom, but one of my good friends just adored it. Who'd have thought that such a film could be made about a social networking site? Also, now I gotta do more creeping on your lj.

Continue! I love a good conversation! I have two cats, as well, Beatrix and Tomas. Beatrix was nearly feral and very young when I found her. She was also, unknown to me, pregnant. She looks like she could be some kind of wildcat, as her coloring allows her to blend into the outdoors well enough, along with having little black tufts of fur at the tips of her ears. According to the vet, Beatrix is a mix of other breeds. I suspect she was born a stray; she's very independent and capable of surviving on her own if she had to. She's very friendly, but only to people she knows.

She had Tomas under my bed. Which was surprising. I woke up one Saturday to hear tiny meowing, and that was that. Tomas is stripey and varying shades of gray with white. He's probably the most relaxed cat I've ever had, which probably stems from having him since birth. He is like his mother, though, in regards to the fact that he's wary of strangers.

Come this spring, they'll be seven and six years old.

I think that was the most I've gone on about my cats on the internet. Audrey and Tyler sound lovely! Tomas did have a Calico sister, but she had deformities and only made it to about three days. I was told that Calicos can have those kinds of health issues? Whatever the case, I kept her company and made certain she was as comfortable as possible. She was pretty tenacious all the way through, much like her mother.

Oooh, thank you! I've seen La Belle, but none of the others. Have you seen Blind? It's Dutch, it's so lovely.

Rooney was lovely in it. I am just so obsessed with her Lisbeth right now. Like it sounds dumb but she came around just at the right time in my life, she's so strong and independent and beautiful. Have you read the books?

And haha actually all my TSN fic is at archive of our own (http://archiveofourown.org/users/takethewords), which I really have been meaning to update with ALL my fic but obviously haven't. lol

Omg, surprise!kittens! That is the most adorable story. I'm so sorry you lost one of them! I've had an insane amount of pets during my life and it always hurts to lose one even if it's just after three days.

I think Calicos have lots of attitude. lol Audrey is either really in the mood for love or just ya know, doing her thing. XD But she's really sweet and well behaved.

Tyler is the most insane momma's boy. XD If I go to the bathroom most times he'll stick his paws under the door. lol He's also a troublemaker, but I love him. I'll probably post some new pictures to lj tomorrow. :)

You are welcome! I have! It was just beautiful, wasn't it? I've recently really fallen in love with Dutch cinema. I basically want to see every film ever from everywhere. It sort of pains me that I can't.

She was, and I so totally adore her as Lisbeth. It doesn't sound dumb at all - I can, in fact, completely relate to how you feel. I've loved my fair share of characters, but few have really been able to hit me on such a personal, emotional level that I'm able to find a certain comfort and escape in them. I'd certainly count Lisbeth among them. I haven't, though I know I probably should.

I get so bad at remembering to update my fic over at AO3. I'll post it here and then forget about there. I bookmarked your page for creeping later.

It was amazing for me as I've never had a pet give birth before. All the ones I've owned were all fixed before anything like that could happen, so I kind of panicked at first. Kittens under my bed what do I do?

Having Beatrix show up like she did was like a happy accident. The family cat, which I had since she was a kitten, had died from a stroke before Beatrix's arrival, which was incredibly difficult. Indeed, it always hurts to lose a pet. I always hope that they had as happy a life as possible.

Aw ♥ I've been so used to most of my cats being so independent and very ~love me on my terms~ that I get taken aback at Tomas sometimes. Especially when I'm trying to sleep and he forces my bedroom open so he can sleep on my feet.

Tyler sounds like Tomas! He does the same thing, too (both with sticking his paws under the bathroom door and causing trouble). I'd love to see pictures!
