I asked that girl which road she was taking
So, I've been yammering before around here that I need to get caught up with LJ and I'm just about there.

KFAD part 7 has become parts 7, 8, and 9 as it's all over 20,000 words. Considering that I've not updated it since April or so, I'm immensely pleased with this progress. Expect to see it posted here next week. That is, if you're expecting it at all.

Sundance is currently showing A Dirty Shame, which is good because I need some John Waters right now.
"Look, I'm not a prude. I'm married to an Italian."

I've updated the look around here yet again, and this one pleases me the most so far. Now with even more David Lynch references crammed into it!

I got a blathering post about my love for horror and zombies in he works for this weekend, too, as I plan on watching Romero's finest in celebration of the season. And so, I leave you with this:

Oh, goodness, that's sweet of you to say ♥

I write and create for Sho/Fred because I find it fulfilling, but having met others because of it has been absolutely wonderful (and very much appreciated). Once I get these next parts of KFAD done and posted, it'll also free up more time to cram this place full of more posts.

Thank you! I'll partially blame it on my dad, as it was his intent since I was a child to be a bit of a Francophile.

Also, quick edit, but I have to express my love for your Metropolis icons!

Really? That's pretty cool on your dad's part, I gotta admit.
And thanks for noticing my icons ;)
I've had this obession with Metropolis, (Giorgio Moroder's 1984 rendition, specifically) since the 1st grade, lol...and then I discovered French cinema at 13, so maybe those are the six degrees of separation between the almost-true-to-life Sho/Fred-Mel/Dan shipping???
Or am I just crazy??? lol

Regardless, I love your work and dedication to Sho/Fred.
Btw, Romero is an excellent idea; but for my significant other, most of the people I know are super-lame and don't care for that "nonsense." (rolls eyes)

My dad has always been interested in other cultures (taught himself Russian because of that) and so he wanted me to be the same. Aside from the Madeline books, there was another in particular that he liked about Hemingway, Gertrude Stein, et al. in Paris (but written for children) that he'd get for me from the library. He's a foreign film fan, too, so he was always watching something.

You're welcome! Can I just take a moment to flail at you, as the Giorgio Moroder version of Metropolis is my favorite. Again, blame it on my dad, as he loves it; it was the very first vhs my parents rented. Moroder is, in my opinion, absolutely brilliant.

And if you're crazy, then so am I (but I'd say we're perfectly fine). Though here's some crazy: When I was in Seattle with a friend of mine, we stayed with her grandparents. To pass the time, she'd watch The Edukators on her laptop and I remember rolling my eyes because I far too wrapped up in Blue Spring and thus, I did not understand the appeal of Daniel.

Again, thank you ♥ They're two characters who have moved me in such a way that I have to do what I can for them. And, in turn, they've led me to my own original creations, for which I'm very grateful. Romero is another one of my inspirations. It can be hard to find others who appreciate him, especially if they can also grasp the social commentary of his films (and adore his non-zombie work).

Wow that is so cool! Your dad rules, lol!
I'm beginning to get the feeling that there really is a bond between all Sho/Fred shippers, lol (similar to Identity with John Cusack sans the creepy killings). Moroder's Metropolis is also the first VHS my parents rented in 1989! Crazy!
I also know that at one time or another, Daniel's awesome appeal has been right in front of our faces & we've all missed him, only to "re-connect" with him years later. He was apparently in Miami for a film festival a few years ago, which my sister was working at the time and which I missed, of course. Blue Spring, however, is a pretty hot reason for missing out on Daniel, I must confess. I've never had the pleasure, but I've heard nothing but good things about it.
Anyway, you have a fascinating ability to inspire your readers into spilling their guts out to you about random topics, yet it always leads back to Sho/Fred somehow.
That is brilliant! Tarantino's definitely getting to all of us!

He pretty much does! He's been a film fan all of his life, from taking the bus as a child to the local grindhouse to see Italian Hercules films to being stationed in Okinawa, Japan in the late '60s - early '70s and spending his free time in the theater there. Most of what he's seen is either out of print or hasn't seen the light of day since its original release. He's joked before that Tarantino has probably seen as many films as he has.

I think there really is, from the fans I've met and interacted with. Also? Sho/Fred fans have hands-down been the nicest and smartest I've met in the IB fandom, which has led me to great discussions and friendships.

It's a great coincidence, isn't it? After my parents married in the late '70s and had a family, they didn't go to the theater as much, so my dad jumped on the chance to get ahold of a vcr as soon as they were available. What he loved about VHS was that nearly every film ever made was released onto it, unlike with DVD these days.

He does! I suppose I wasn't quite prepared for him then, though discovering him along with Melanie at the same time (not quite on the level that they "discovered" each other) was probably for the best. I did use him as a bargaining chip to get my dear [livejournal.com profile] germanpanther (same friend I went with to Seattle) to see IB with me, as I wasn't sure I wanted to see the film. I love Quentin, but WWII films, especially concerning the Holocaust and Nazism make me extremely uncomfortable, so I needed to bring someone along with me. But, as you can see, it all worked out for the best. And she had fun with "I told you so!"
Next time Daniel is around, be sure to give him a good talking to about Mel.

And definitely see Blue Spring! Ryuhei Matsuda is one of my favorites. He's my Japanese Daniel, basically.

Aw, goodness. I think it's one of my odd talents, actually. It's been that way for as long as I can remember. I also can't shut up when talking about film.

Quentin will be end of us all, which is why I send inappropriate tweets to Eli about it.

EXCELLENT. I am really proud of how it's turning out. It's an absolute labor of love, that's for certain.
