He pretty much does! He's been a film fan all of his life, from taking the bus as a child to the local grindhouse to see Italian Hercules films to being stationed in Okinawa, Japan in the late '60s - early '70s and spending his free time in the theater there. Most of what he's seen is either out of print or hasn't seen the light of day since its original release. He's joked before that Tarantino has probably seen as many films as he has.

I think there really is, from the fans I've met and interacted with. Also? Sho/Fred fans have hands-down been the nicest and smartest I've met in the IB fandom, which has led me to great discussions and friendships.

It's a great coincidence, isn't it? After my parents married in the late '70s and had a family, they didn't go to the theater as much, so my dad jumped on the chance to get ahold of a vcr as soon as they were available. What he loved about VHS was that nearly every film ever made was released onto it, unlike with DVD these days.

He does! I suppose I wasn't quite prepared for him then, though discovering him along with Melanie at the same time (not quite on the level that they "discovered" each other) was probably for the best. I did use him as a bargaining chip to get my dear [livejournal.com profile] germanpanther (same friend I went with to Seattle) to see IB with me, as I wasn't sure I wanted to see the film. I love Quentin, but WWII films, especially concerning the Holocaust and Nazism make me extremely uncomfortable, so I needed to bring someone along with me. But, as you can see, it all worked out for the best. And she had fun with "I told you so!"
Next time Daniel is around, be sure to give him a good talking to about Mel.

And definitely see Blue Spring! Ryuhei Matsuda is one of my favorites. He's my Japanese Daniel, basically.

Aw, goodness. I think it's one of my odd talents, actually. It's been that way for as long as I can remember. I also can't shut up when talking about film.

Quentin will be end of us all, which is why I send inappropriate tweets to Eli about it.
