I Author My Own Disaster; a Loki/Darcy fanmix

I suppose this is a fanmix that requires a preface, especially after seeing enough questioning of this pairing on both lj and tumblr. I can understand, as nowhere in the film did Loki and Darcy interact (this macro sums it up). There are some factors that got me into this pairing, namely sendhimaway's fanworks and the shenanigans Tom Hiddleston and Kat Dennings were up to during the 2010 Comic Con press conference for Thor. So many shenanigans. So many.

Basically, my love of Loki/Darcy rests not upon what was presented in canon, but of the potential between them, which is what I set out to capture - from both of their perspectives - with this fanmix. Loki/Darcy is the opposite of Thor/Jane: there are no happy endings to be found here, and the two are more than aware of that fact. Loki will not compromise his desire for vengeance and Darcy's allegiance remains with her friends; neither will back down, no matter how much it might break their hearts. But, for however long it lasts, they will more than enjoy what they have - the push and pull, the give and take, all of the desire and the angst - no matter how it ends.

When it all comes down to it, this is a love story, as much as one can be found between a petulant, wrathful god and a sharp-tongued human woman with a penchant for carrying a taser.

01. When Things Explode has a total time of 13:42 minutes; the vocals end at 5:18, followed by dead air. The track picks up with instrumental/electronic music at 7:26. An overall moody piece, I feel it perfectly wraps up the mix and fits perfectly with Loki's perspective.
