"Shit man, how the shit are you?"

I can't wait for [livejournal.com profile] germanpanther to get back home from China for a number of reasons. One in particular is that I have no one to quote Blue Velvet with (though there was that time at work when Victoria blurted out, "Heineken? Fuck that shit!").

I also want my own personal Brad Dourif to boss around.

"No, I want you to fuck it. Shit yes! Pour the fuckin' beer!"

I love that movie. I can't watch it too often and it's one of those movies I have to be in a healthy place to watch or else it will destroy me for days. Hopper is so horrifyingly good.

I can be like that with Blue Velvet, too. Once I'm in the mood for it, I have to watch it continuously over a period of time. Dennis Hopper is so unbelievably brilliant and I love the film's ending so very much that I get choked up.

But I can't quite listen to In Dreams the same way again.

Hah! I think we might have become friends over that scene in a Watchmen comm... I think we just might have.

The other day, someone mentioned that they liked Pabst Blue Ribbon and I tried to make a Blue Velvet reference, but they didn't get it. I was so confused.. I thought Blue Velvet was everyone's reason for drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon.

Indeed it was! I have that post saved to my memories ♥

I can see no other reason to drink Pabst Blue Ribbon unless it's to channel one's inner Frank Booth.

Haven't seen that movie more than 1,5 times or so way too long ago, so I don't recognize quotes, but I can definitely hear Dennis Hopper in my mind if given the cues. I'd forgotten Brad Dourif was in it though. Somehow I just remember "Al from Quantum Leap". Good luck with the Dourif though.

I had first watched Blue Velvet on television years ago, so when I randomly decided one day to buy it on DVD, I had nearly all but forgotten that Brad was in it, too. Even with the side-parted hair and that awful leisure/lounge suit, he appeals to me.

I have such strange affection for Dennis Hopper and YES! Quantam Leap! Seeing him as Ben and then on Battlestar Galactica was slightly unnerving, because a part of me always reacts with, "Al, what are you doing?!"

Hi! And yes, yes we can.

Your approval of Dean Stockwell in Blue Velvet tells me that you are one suave fucker, so therefore, you are worth knowing.
