PEOPLE LIKE ME ON THE INTERNET.

So it seems that [livejournal.com profile] piecesofalice and I were able to restore some faith in fanmixes, as we both got a wonderful mention on a blog concerning our contributions to Shosanna/Fredrick (as well as winning me over immediately by linking to Tarantino's beautiful Romeo and Juliet quote about them). The post also included a link to fantastic, Jack Kirby-style, fictional comic book covers.

Oh, my ego ♥

Check out the post HERE, as well as the rest of his blog, while you're at it.

Onto the covers! These were done as a what-if? scenario, if Tarantino's film were released in the 1970s, with each chapter adapted into a comic book by Jack Kirby. Simply put, these are AMAZING. They look like something I'd discover at a local flea market, Trader's World and then my friends would look at me funny as I'd work myself up in a tizzy over them:

I WANT TO MARRY THIS ONE:

My only qualm with this one is that it's Fredrick, not Frederick. I also like how apprehensive Shosanna appears to be. And Francesca's poodle is quite pleased:

THIS ONE IS AWESOME, TOO. BAR GLOBE!:

Also, Daniel of TEN THINGS I LEARNT FROM THIS WEEK'S KERRANG, hello, if you're reading this.

Wow, I want those comic book covers printed and hung on a wall of my house.

You have most excellent taste, my dear.

Why, thank you. Do you know if they come in a super high-res somewhere? Or are in fact available as a decent sized print?

You're quite welcome. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any high-res. I do know that they were originally posted by aintitcoolnews.com's Harry Knowles, but he gave no further information: http://twitpic.com/pijbg
