Another Shosanna/Fredrick fanmix. Also, graphics!
This one is most definitely my favorite, as I went with more atmospheric/mood choices. The songs in this mix, of course, pertain to Shosanna/Fredrick, as well as their individual perspectives.
Special thanks to [livejournal.com profile] nickytheapache, because our Sho/Fred discussions have been wonderfully inspiring ♥

Shosanna Dreyfus/Fredrick Zoller

Shosanna Dreyfus/Fredrick Zoller

La Petite Fille De La Mer
Vangelis

Instrumental

Just A Man
Faith No More

Man was born to love
Though often he has sought
Like Icarus, to fly too high
And far too lonely than he ought
To kiss the sun of east and west
And hold the world at his behest
To hold the terrible power
To whom only gods are blessed
But me, I am just a man

Invisible Sun
The Police

And they're only going to change this place by
Killing everybody in the human race
And they would kill me for a cigarette
But I don't even wanna die just yet

My Secret Friend
Iamx ft. Imogen Heap

In your skin
To die a little death
This time there's no code word
When everyday frays in hollow ends
Dream sweet love submersive

Audrey's Prayer
Angelo Badalamenti & David Lynch

Instrumental

More
The Sisters Of Mercy

Do you get scared to feel so much?
To let somebody touch you?
So hot, so cold, so far so out of control
Hard to come by, and harder to hold

Souvenirs d'Un Autre Monde
Alcest
lyrics in French lyrics in English

N'aie crainte, à présent tout est fini
Laisse couler tes larmes une dernière fois
Pour à jamais en être libéré
Et rejoins le monde d'où tu viens

If I Had A Heart
Fever Ray

This will never end
'Cause I want more
More, give me more, give me more

Just Like Honey
The Jesus and Mary Chain

Listen to the girl
As she takes on half the world
Moving up and so alive
In her honey dripping beehive

Exit
Tangerine Dream

Instrumental

All These Things That I've Done
The Killers

And when there's nowhere else to run
Is there room for one more son
These changes ain't changing me
The gold-hearted boy I used to be

We Carry On
Portishead

Holding on to my heart
I bleed the taste of life

Le Grande Secret
Indochine ft. Melissa Auf der Maur
lyrics in French lyrics in English

Mais si un jour
On pouvait s’en aller
On pourrait bien enfin s’emmener
Mais si un jour on pouvait
Se quitter
On pourrait bien enfin
Se retrouver

Resistance
Muse

It could be wrong, could be wrong
But it should've been right
It could be wrong, could be wrong
Let our hearts ignite

Into Dust
Mazzy Star

I could possibly be fading
Or have something more to gain
I could feel myself growing colder
I could feel myself under your face
Under your face

Paul The Genius
Charles Bernstein

Instrumental

Yay! I love quotes like that, I love it when people do the quote archives/epic quote posts in their journals. Especially when the quotes match my mood/OTP/generally tickle my fancy...aaah it's a good feeling :D

Heh thank you! I'm so grateful that my grandparents still speak only Italian. Otherwise, I probably wouldn't be as fluent in it as I am. I love the language...it's just adjshfbka it gives me a warm and fuzzy feeling :) I take it you'll be taking French classes? Or just drowning yourself in French culture? I suggest the latter ;)

Madeline! I used to watch the cartoon show when I was younger. Aww that's lovely of your father to want you to grow up like that.

I knoooow omg exactly!

I've been watching marathons of the series lately, and that line stuck with me, as it's just so perfect. I know that many see David Lynch as being weird, but I love how he writes.

You're welcome! One of my good friends is a linguistics major and she's nearly fluent in German, so her love of languages has rubbed off on me (I did before, but she has such an ear for accents). There are language programs that I've been looking into, but I'll probably just drown myself in the culture for now. I'm working on a personal project that fortunately has to do with France, which makes all of the research enjoyable, as I don't have much time at the moment to take any classes.

My dad always had an interest in other cultures (he taught himself Russian), so it was important to him that I grew up with such interests. I'm very thankful for that!

I'm gad you do, because it nearly renders me inarticulate when I think about it!

you should just write down all the lines that remind you of them and spam with them. i'd personally die of happy ;)
honestly, the weirder the writer, the more i like them. i love oddball stuff!

drowning in culture = best thing ever ever everrrrr!

ah that's so impressive! my grandfather taught himself french when he had to work in france, but he's since forgotten some of it. but it's so funny because when i used to bring my french homework to his place, he'd always start talking to me in french! the first time, i was in complete and utter shock aha!

:D

also, sorry for the painfully late reply D:

I really should! That is a great suggestion, as I could have a picspam of them with quotes. OMG, I'll die of happy, too, with the post to carry on my legacy.

As do I! Lynch and Cronenberg, for example, are a couple of my favorites, and I find there's a lot of heart and beauty to be found in their work.

It is! I've been immersed in the history of the French Resistance and occupation and I have some documentaries and films on the subject, so I've been drowning in history and culture which I find ridiculously exciting.

He took some classes in the late '70s, but come the early '80s when he began his career as a reference librarian, the best method he found was conversing with the Russians who moved to our city. He befriended many of them, so I grew up around them (I can't speak the language at all, but I love the sound of it). Whenever anyone needs help with Russian or the library needs to order Russian books, my dad's the one they go to.
but it's so funny because when i used to bring my french homework to his place, he'd always start talking to me in french! the first time, i was in complete and utter shock aha!
Aw, I love that! I would be the same way if I were in your shoes, but that is amazing!

I now apologize for such a late reply! If you'd like, you can join in the fun here.

QUOTE PICSPAM YESSSSS!

I definitely need to check those two out, then! I love when something has heart and beauty...ugh <3

That is so amazing, omg. So jealous!

That's what I've heard; the best way to learn a language is so speak with people who speak it fluently. I'd love to move to France just to learn French, aha ;)

Yes for sure :D

heh no problem! heading there now :D

I have all the screencaps I plan on using ready and plenty of quotes to work with, so I plan on making the post later tonight. It's such a great idea, and aside from watching too much Twin Peaks, you've been a wonderful help!

David Cronenberg and David Lynch are two of my favorites. Cronenberg is a pioneer of the body horror genre, which is about the limits and destruction of the human body. His films can be intense, but they're far more than horror. His newest work, A History of Violence and Eastern Promises are his most accessable films, but I recommend everything he's done.
David Lynch's series Twin Peaks (its 20th anniversary was this past week) is one of the best television series I've ever seen and Dale Cooper is probably the sweetest, most genuine fictional character in existence. I highly recommend Wild at Heart and Blue Velvet.

Research has been such a vacuum with my time lately, but I'm very much loving it.

My dad has such a knack for Russian accents, which then leads to the Russians he meets getting excited that someone can recognize where they're from, as well as speak the language. For years, if we'd go anywhere, we'd run into them in public and enthusiastic conversations in Russian would ensue (I would just observe).

My dad also tells me (in the nicest way possible) to go to Paris and never come back. But oh, if only.

I decided to upload a film every month and post it to my LJ, and I figured you might be interested, as I love discussing such things with people and I've been enjoying our conversation.

:D

Oooh thank you for those little mini reviews, I shall definitely check them out!

Ah well that's good :)

Oh man, I wish my parents would tell me that :O

If only I had time to actually watch a movie and give my input. It's been go go go lately with school & I've barely had time for anything, really :C hopefully this summer I'll be able to watch the movies you post!

Oh, my goodness, I've been terribly late with getting back to people, as I had been under the weather and all.

I have a variety of quotes compiled, so now I'm going to mull over which ones fit them best (I'm far too particular, which can be a pain).

You're welcome! David Cronenberg and David Lynch are, in my opinion, necessary viewing.

My parents have advised me in various interesting ways over the years, but being told to go Paris and never come back is one of my favorites (along with being told that I remind my dad of Peter Fonda, which started a love affair with drive-in biker films and the Fonda family).

Jump in whenever you're able to! I've noticed that many of my friends here have been busy with school, so I'll save my favorite and more interesting choices for the summer. I hope everything's going well with you ♥

i shall be sure check them out!

aha that's so awesome!

yay, thank you :)

everything's all right on this end, but i've been so swamped with homework :C it's great fun though, i'm surprisingly enjoying these assignments and whatnot aha. ♥

I'm doing better! I'm just tired from work and research (and my incessant need to keep photoshop open). It's all been colliding together, but everything's calming down, somewhat. I'm making time for the quote post this weekend, though!

And you're welcome! I'm thinking of posting Sid & Nancy next as it's one of my favorites and because it was on late last night, which inspired me.

I'm glad to hear you're doing well and that you're enjoying your assignments, even if it is a bit overwhelming! I know how that can be, and one of my close friends is dealing with the same.
[identity profile] neonntiger.livejournal.com on April 30th, 2010 11:13 pm (UTC)
that's good!
ahah photoshop ALWAYS needs to be open! you never know when inspiration will strike!

love that movie! go for it :D

mhm for sure!
